NOTE: Some personal thoughts on my journey from Delhi to Agra, home of the Taj Mahal

The Road to Agra is a long one, up to 4 hours by car. But it is a road that speaks to the amazing beauty, challenge and promise of India. At its end is the magnificence of the Taj Mahal - a wonder to even the most jaded globetrotter.

J-Curve or G-curve? Another take on innovative growth.

We all know what a J curve is - the phenomenon of exponential growth that causes a market to suddenly take off on a steep incline. The interesting thing about J-curves is that they actually do not "take off" suddenly but instead ramp slowly over long periods of time until some catalytic event causes them to emerge from below the threshold of visibility.

I'd like to offer another metaphor to describe rapid and apparently sudden acceleration of markets - a G- curve.  G- curves describe the breakthrough that allows a J-curve to occur. The term G-curve comes from the early days of the aviation industry, when fighter aircraft began to exceed a pilot's ability to fly. In many ways this feels like the point we are at with many information technologies today.  Find out more by listening to this podcast.
